Rundown Screens

Curved panel (rolled) wedge wires are utilised as conveyor and screening media in dewatering and draining applications. Wedgewire conveyor screens usually have axial wires and are half cylinders. Other configurations are also produced.

Croft filters are often required to supply wedge wire rundown screens – also called Parabolic screens.

A rundown screen is often used in instances where dewatering is necessary, and these include a high capacity, cost effective, highly efficient method of solids/liquids separation.

These screens are manufactured to suit the specific requirements of the customer and application. Which enables a solution for separating solids and liquids. Consisting of an outer body, which is manufactured in mild steel or stainless steel. Each unit has an inlet chamber and feed weir, over which the wet media passes onto the wedge wire panel, set at right angles to the material flow, enabling the separating process to function. Separated solids are collected at the lower section of the screen to drain and compact normally in a tray. After that, they then slide by gravity onto a solids discharge chute. The extracted liquid passes through the wedge wire into an underflow collecting chamber, with a disposal outlet for either re-circulation or discharge.
